Where is Las Trillizas Waterfall and how do I get there?

Las Trillizas are located between the towns of San Antonio and Guayabito, on a dairy farm in Santa Cruz de Turrialba. They are approximately 2 km from the entrance to the La Muralla Waterfall parking lot. Access is easy, although the last stretch requires careful driving.

* Although they share an area, Las Trillizas and La Muralla Waterfall are different routes with separate entrances and payments, you can access both in the same place.

 

What will you find at Las Trillizas?

The Triplets are named after the three adjacent waterfalls , 20, 30 and 40 metres high , surrounded by unspoiled nature.

  • The route is short (20 minutes) and of easy-medium difficulty depending on the person's condition.
  • There is a bathroom area where you can change.
  • There is space for picnics and quiet areas to rest.
  • Pets accustomed to walking are allowed.

Can you swim in the falls?

Yes. However, swimming is only permitted in the first section , where the first two falls are located. The third waterfall has a stronger current and is not safe to enter.

What is the trail like?

The trail crosses a farm and is natural, with slippery areas. It's recommended to wear good footwear and avoid walking on wet stones .

Is it worth it for a day tour?

Yes, it's ideal for a day trip from Cartago or the GAM. It has everything you need to disconnect without any hassle: nature, fresh air, a brisk hike, and a waterfall to cool off in.
